A personal noise dosimeter is a testing device that evaluates the noise conditions of a working environment by measuring and displaying cumulative noise exposure. With this test data, companies can ensure compliance with relevant noise regulations or decide whether to implement certain noise reduction measures to prevent hearing damage and noise-induced hearing loss among workers. This noise dosimeter complies with the GB/T 15952 standard.

【Measurement Principle】

Dosage is a parameter used to quantify noise exposure over a period of time, converted into a percentage relative to 90 dBA over 8 hours. That is: 100% dosage = 90 dBA for 8 hours, which is the well-known standard. Other standards are also available, such as 100% dosage = 85 dBA for 8 hours, to meet the legislation of different countries. If a person stays in such an environment for 4 hours, they receive a 50% dosage. Moreover, if the noise level is 93 dBA, which is 3 dB higher, it only takes 4 hours to accumulate a 100% dosage. The above example applies to a dosimeter with a 3 dB exchange rate, where a 3 dB increase in sound level corresponds to a doubling of energy. For a dosimeter with a 5 dB exchange rate, a 5 dB increase in sound level is required to double the dosage, which aligns with the noise regulations of various countries.

* Single sound level meter (SLM) settings. This instrument has two overlapping measurement ranges: 60–130 & 70–140 dB, with A and C RMS weighting, linear and C peak weighting, fast and slow time weighting, and energy exchange rates (Q) of 3, 4, 5, and 6. In dosage measurement mode, it displays dosage %, projected dosage % over 8 hours, peak levels, and measurement duration. For countries following EU regulations or equivalent ISO standards, the instrument measures the daily noise exposure level (LAeq,8hr, pa2h as per IEC 61252, equivalent to L EX,8h as required by ISO 1999); for US OSHA/MSHA regulations, it measures the time-weighted average level (TWA). When used as a sound level meter, it displays time-averaged sound levels – (L Aeq), sound exposure level (SEL). The instrument is controlled by a built-in clock and time-history recording capacitor for automatic operation. Sampling time can be set from 1 second to 1 hour, with 120,000 stored data points. The instrument can measure and save up to five specified LN values (statistical noise levels). Operation time, preset start and stop times, and other settings can be configured via the instrument keys or software.
